HAAS brushes are becoming increasingly popular in the equestrian community, with many elite equestrians including Alan Davies endorsing the brand I just had to see what all the fuss is about.
First originating in Germany, HAAS brushes offer bespoke grooming care for a range of coats- from bay to grey. Each process from the selection of materials to the manufacturing and final inspection is carefully monitored to ensure the highest of quality. HAAS brushes claim to provide:
- Better hygiene
- Increased reliability
- Comfortable handling
- Water resistance
- Precision manufacturing
- Retention of bristles
- Shatter resistance
Because the brushes are manufactured in Germany, there are limited stockists in the UK. I got mine from ‘Eqclusive’ (https://eqclusive.com/collections/haas)- an online approved stockist of the brand, I was impressed by their service and speed of delivery. Although the brushes are expensive, I would not advise trying to find alternative stockists other than those approved by HAAS at risk of being sold counterfeit brushes. HAAS offers packs of brushes tailored to each coat or single brushes.
Due to the price of the brushes, I decided to buy just one to test the water. When the brush arrived it was so soft, the Diva brush is a combination of lambswool bordered with soft horsehair- no synthetic bristles. The use of natural horse hair means the brush doesn’t cause any damage to the coat. I decided to test the brush on my dark bay New Forest pony, Chester. Chester seemed to enjoy his groom, I could even see him blinking slowly as if he was about to nod off! Beforehand Chester’s coat was dull and dusty, Chester’s last bath was about two weeks ago and so I was very impressed with the gleaming results. The super soft brush is perfect for removing dust and dandruff from your horse’s coat. The brush itself is ergonomic with a comfortable leather wrist strap.
Overall, this is definitely the most luxurious brush I have ever had the pleasure of using and I would one hundred percent recommend it to a friend. The brush is not only luxurious, it is also durable and feels as if it will last a long time. The glossy finish of the coat is perfect for any competitive rider taking their horses out this summer or the happy hacker wanting to give their horse a bit of TLC. I will definitely be purchasing myself a pack next pay day! See above for the results on Chester.
